MARIO

"Mario, wanting to capitalize on the success of Wario's Factory, was hired as a technician, making sure nothing breaks down. His favorite machine was a computer on the desk of the security office. His head was brutally sliced off. He was brought back to life, and now haunts the computer he once loved."

Mario posessed. This is his main appearance for the majority of the game.

Mario is the an antagonist of Five Nights at Wario's: Return to the Factory. He is active starting Night 4. He attacks through the computer on the desk.

APPEARANCE

Mario, while he was alive, had blue eyes and a black mustache, despite having brown hair. He wears blue overalls, a red shirt, a red hat, white gloves, and brown shoes.

After being possessed by his cursed soul, Mario's eyes turned glowing white, and there are blood stains all over his clothes. The most noticeable difference is that Mario no longer has a head, as it was cut off by Bruno Gate.

Mario's bloody head can be seen as an easter egg in the game.

BEHAVIOR

Mario first becomes active on Night 4. His speed increases more and more as the nights go on. Unlike everyone else, Mario is not seen on camera, rather he attacks from the computer on the office desk. The computer turns on to show that he's active.

PATHS

Mario doesn't have a room path, as does not appear on camera. He makes three moves in the computer before attacking you in the Office. His final phase shows his eyes blinking and his hand reaching out of the computer.

ATTACKING

After leaving the computer, he will appear in the Office, with the room blinking. He gives you a short amount of time to react in this state.

LEAVING

If you pull up the camera while he is in the Office, it will cause him to leave and reset. He will be seen in the computer again.

KILLING THE PLAYER

If you do not pull up the camera monitor in time while he is in the office, he will kill the player, resulting in a Game Over.

FUN FACTS

Mario%20Icon_edited.png
  • Mario is the only character to not appear on cameras. He was planned to enter the Lobby at random, like how he behaves in Entrance 1 in FNAW1, but this was scrapped.

  • Mario reaching outside the computer during his final phase is a reference to Mario's final phase in the basement in FNAW Origins.

  • Mario's music box has 3 variations to it, a normal pitch, a lower pitch, and a higher pitch.

  • Mario is the only character to be seen in the office but not immediately attack you.

  • Mario was originally planned to attack in the hall and function like Luigi. He would have had two phases in the hall, similar to Toy Freddy in FNAF2.

  • Another scrapped mechanic was for him to teleport to the left or right door from the computer at random. You would have to close the corresponding door to send him back to the computer.

  • In the Data Office, there is a 1/100 chance of seeing Mario's disembodied head on the desk to the left.

  • Mario was the final and easiest character to implement into the game.

  • Despite this, in version 1.0, there was a strange bug. If Mario killed you during a Custom Night, it would take you to the Wario Man introduction cutscene.

    • The reason why this happens is that whenever a character in the main nights jumpscares you, it takes you to the Game Over screen after 1 second. After Wario Man confronts you for 2 seconds in the office on Night 0, his cutscene will play (This applies to any other character as well jumpscaring you). Since the jumpscares send you to the Game Over screen normally, this isn't an issue. But for some reason, during Custom Night, the code for Mario's jumpscare wasn't active, letting the jumpscare last for 2 seconds and then sending you back to the introduction cutscene.

    • This bug was fixed with V1.0.1.

BACKSTORY

After Mario noticed the success of Wario's Factory, he wanted to capitalize on that success as much as possible. He got a job at the factory, managing the tech around the factory, and primarily controlling everything in the Control Room, a job Luigi had to do while also managing the machinery. He was considered a great employee and helped the factory run smoothly.

However, one night, he, along with Luigi, Waluigi, and Peach, investigated the factory as they heard strange noises coming from it, almost like cries for help. When they entered, they were shocked to find a man in the Wario Man costume confronting Wario, who was on guard duty.

The man, Bruno Gate, feeling cornered, went insane and killed Waluigi, Peach, Luigi, and Mario. Mario recieved the most brutal death of the four, having his entire head sliced off.

Later, his cursed soul possessed his dead headless body, bringing it back to life.

7 years later, he, along with his friends, hunted Richard McRoy, the newly hired guard during the night.
